Create A Moving Checklist Before You Move
One of the main important steps to any move is good planning. Every move needs a good plan to begin with. A plan is a solid foundation. It gives it structure and a framework. All in all, you must give it a try before you move and you will definitely see good results. Moving is hectic, there is no doubt about that. We all find moving a complete and utter nightmare. Most of us just can’t cope with the stress of it all. If you happen to be one of those people and let’s face of it, most of us feel the same way; you must try and get organized beforehand. At least, give it a try and you will definitely be happy with the overall end result. One of the most effective planning methods is a checklist. A checklist is very effective and beneficial for a number of reasons. So what is a checklist? To put it simply, it’s a just a list of tasks and chores written down and each time a chore is completed, one ticks it off the list and moves on to the next chore. That’s all there is to it. It is basic but effective. So, in order to make your removal checklist, get some paper and a pen. Write down everything you need to do before your move and during your move. Make sure they are written clearly so you can see them and it might be useful to write down the list of chores in the order that they will be need to be done. Are you wondering what to put down? Here are some ideas: 1. A clearout. Donate any unwanted belongings in your home or office that you no longer need. 2. Tell friends and family. Tell them about your move if you haven’t already done so. Do not leave it until the last minute. You want to make sure they know in plenty of time.3. Sort out your change of address. You don’t want any more letters or bills going to the wrong address so get in contact with the people you need to and tell them you have changed address.4. Pack. Of course, you can’t move without packing. So purchase your materials and organize the items that you will be taking with you. Then package your entire belongings well.5. Find transport or a company. Obviously it depends on whether you are doing DIY move or whether you are hiring a removal company. If you are doing DIY, you will need to find a van. If not, the company will sort all that out for you. 6. Clean. Before unpacking it is important that you give your new house a good clean or your office a clean. You don’t want to unload your belongings onto dusty shelves and grimy floors. 7. Unpack. Unpacking is yet another important step in the removal process. So, place the right boxes in the right rooms and unpack each box room by room. At least this way, your entire home won’t be a mess with boxes. If you get bored half way down unpacking, at least there will be a few rooms that have already been unpacked. It is probably wise to start with the room you will use first, like your bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. Create a checklist and feel the reward of ticking off each task one by one. There are endless benefits to using a checklist for your move, so don’t avoid it.
